About This Role
Here's the deal. I'm looking for a driver who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. This isn't just a driving job; it's about delivering and installing the product yourself at construction sites, mines, and quarries around Green Bay, WI. You'll be behind the wheel of our bulk trucks (what we call Mobile Manufacturing Units) about 40% of the time. The other 60% is physical work on site: loading product, pulling hoses, operating equipment controls, climbing on and off the truck. You're out there in all weather conditions making sure our blasting products get where they need to go.
The Schedule
It's a Monday through Friday schedule. Expect early starts, around 6 AM. Days are typically 10 to 12 hours long with some local driving for 2 3 hours at a stretch. Overtime happens when we need it. There might be some overnight travel now and then, but it's less than 10% of the time.
What You'll Do Every Day
- Start and end your day with full vehicle inspections, checking all fluid levels.
- Drive and operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks.
- Handle raw materials and hazardous goods by the book; safety and regulations aren't suggestions here.
- Your daily tasks involve loading product, pulling large hoses, filling drilled holes, and climbing on equipment.
- A lot of shoveling gravel to fill those holes is part of the routine.
- You're pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and moving all day long.
- If you see something wrong or something happens, you report it immediately.
- We talk safety every single day in toolbox talks and have bigger monthly meetings; your voice in those matters.
- A big part of this is minimizing waste and controlling our environmental impact while you work.
What You Need to Bring
A year or so of experience with driving or material handling would be great. But here are the non negotiables:
- A valid Class B CDL is required. If you've got a Class A, even better.
- Tanker and Hazmat endorsements are preferred. If you don't have them yet but are willing to get them, we'll support you through that process.
- You need a solid understanding of DOT regulations; that's not up for debate.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- The job demands basic math skills for daily inventory management.
The work is outside in every kind of weather. You've got to be able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly and carry over 50 pounds of product or materials. It's physically demanding from start to finish; if that sounds like your kind of challenge, keep reading.
