About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this RN Staff Development Coordinator spot at Life Care Center of North Glendale in Glendale, AZ. It's a specific kind of nursing role; you're not just on the floor, you're the one making sure everyone else is trained up and ready to go. You'll be building and running all the in service education for the nursing team. If you like teaching and have a solid clinical background, this could be your thing.

What you'll do

The core of this job is the training program. You own it from start to finish.

  • Plan, organize, and direct all staff training, education, in services, and orientations.
  • You'll also conduct these sessions and then evaluate how they went to make them better.
  • Keeping meticulous records of all associate training is a big part of the gig.
  • Beyond teaching, you need to be a resource. That means providing great customer service and maintaining positive working relationships with everyone; associates, vendors, patients.
  • You've got to understand all the rules: the laws, regulations, and guidelines for a post acute care facility are your playbook.
  • There are practical duties too, like assisting with patient evacuations and functioning as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • The day to day involves moving around; sitting, standing, bending, lifting, walking. You need to communicate clearly in English.

What you need to bring

They're looking for a specific mix of education and mindset.

  • A nursing diploma is required; that can be an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • You must have an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing for the state, and you have to keep it that way.
  • A year of experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred. Same goes for any prior teaching or education experience.
  • You need CPR certification when you start (or you'll get it during orientation), and you have to keep it current.
  • The real key is a desire to train people effectively. They want someone with expert knowledge who can make independent decisions when needed.
  • You should perform well in all competency areas like patient rights and safety protocols.
  • Professionalism is non negotiable: maintaining confidentiality, adhering to the company's Code of Conduct, and completing all compliance training are part of the deal.

The details

This is a full time position. The schedule will involve moving intermittently during working hours for all those physical tasks like lifting and walking. You need to be dependable with your attendance.
