PACU RN at North Florida Surgical Pavilion

North Florida Surgical Pavilion in Gainesville, FL runs a high volume ambulatory surgery center averaging over 275 cases a month. We cover GYN, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, retina, plastics, podiatry, oculoplastics, and pain specialties. We're accredited by the AAAHC, and we're part of a national learning health system that's doing real things ; like cutting stroke response times nearly in half and using SPOT Technology to detect sepsis faster than any human could.

Our team needs a PreOp Registered Nurse to handle pre operative care for our patients. You'll plan, execute, and evaluate the nursing care for each person before their procedure. You'll also carry forward the values of HCA and North Florida Surgical Pavilion ; treating every patient like family.

What you'll actually do in this role

• Prepare your patients' care area before each case
• Make sure the necessary equipment and supplies are ready for each procedure
• Do a complete physical and psychological assessment of each patient ; looking at their history and diagnostic tests
• Review each patient's chart for completeness before surgery
• Administer pre operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
• Keep monitoring your patients until they're transferred to the OR

What you need to qualify

• An Associate Degree in Nursing, RN Diploma, or a higher nursing degree (required)
• One or more years of nursing experience in a clinical setting ; PACU, ICU, or Surgery is preferred
• An active RN license as required by your state of employment
• BCLS certification upon employment (online certification isn't acceptable)
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
• PALS certification within 30 days of hire if required by the facility
