About This Role

The Job

This is a Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at HCA Florida Gainesville Hospital in Gainesville, FL. You'd be providing care for patients who need nuclear medicine procedures. That means you're directly involved with radioactive isotopes, both for diagnostic work and some therapeutic purposes. You're the one operating the equipment that measures radiation, produces images, and quantifies how the body responds. You relay all that to the physician so they can interpret it. And you'll be handling radioactive materials safely, especially when dosing patients with radiopharmaceuticals ; both orally and intravenously ; exactly as the licensed physician prescribes and authorizes. You follow ALARA standards to keep radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures using radioactive isotopes
  • Operate imaging and radiation measurement equipment
  • Quantify physiologic responses and relay images to physicians
  • Handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, both orally and intravenously
  • Work directly with patients throughout their procedures

What You Need

  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
  • State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) with Nuclear Medicine specialty (ARRT(N)), OR a Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (NMTCB)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of your start date

Pay and Bonus
