
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Tax Manager role. It's with a regional firm that's growing fast, and they need someone who can run point on their tax strategy and compliance. The pay range is $120,000 to $175,000 a year.
The Work
You'd be the one making sure all the tax filings are done right and on time. That means federal, state, local; the whole picture. You'll handle returns for corporations, partnerships, and high net worth individuals.
A big part of the job is planning. You're not just filing forms; you're figuring out how to manage liabilities and advising management on how decisions will play out with the IRS and other agencies. You'll also review tax accruals and make sure everything ties into the financial system correctly.
And you won't be doing it alone; you'll supervise and mentor junior folks on the tax team. Staying up to date on tax law changes and keeping everyone informed is part of the deal too.
What You Need
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master's is a nice bonus.
- An active CPA license is non negotiable; you need to have it.
- At least five years of experience, ideally from a public accounting firm.
- Deep, practical knowledge across several areas: 1120S filings, 1031 Exchanges, gift taxes, S Corps, corporate tax accounting, and dealing with the IRS.
- A solid grasp of federal, state, and local tax codes and what they mean for corporations.
- The ability to juggle multiple projects and hit deadlines without constant oversight.
