The Job in a Nutshell

A precision metal fabrication and machining manufacturer in Fresno, CA needs a Quality Engineer. This isn't a desk jockey role; you'll be hands on in aerospace or medical manufacturing, making sure things are built right the first time.

What You'll Actually Do

• Own and maintain the AS9100 Quality Management System day to day.
• Build out quality control processes for sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, EDM, welding, and assembly.
• Write inspection plans, control plans, FAI reports, and PPAPs from scratch.
• Dig into root causes when something goes wrong ; think 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, 8D reports ; and lead CAPA activities.
• Work elbow to elbow with engineering and production teams to solve quality problems before they hit the customer.
• Support internal and external audits; keep compliance records tight.
• Train operators and inspectors on quality standards and procedures. No one's born knowing this stuff.
• Push suppliers to meet specs and quality requirements.
• Use CMMs, micrometers, calipers ; whatever it takes ; to verify product accuracy.
• Analyze data for trends so you can cut down variation and defects at the source.

What You Need to Bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or something related (or equivalent experience ; we get it).
• A solid working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards.
• Real experience with root cause analysis tools: 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, 8D reports ; not just buzzwords on your resume.
• The ability to read blueprints cold and understand GD&T without blinking twice.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding processes. If you've worked around these shops before that's a big plus.
• Clear communication skills for writing documentation that actually makes sense. Problem solving chops too.
• Smooth proficiency with Microsoft Office plus any quality management software you've used before.

A nice to have:

- An ASQ Certification (CQE or CQA) is preferred but not required. Don't sweat it if you don't have it yet.

The Pay & Perks
