Executive Assistant

The Role

An Am Law 100 firm needs a senior practice assistant for its Corporate Finance group in Fresno, CA. This is a full time gig supporting a busy team of attorneys, and it comes with a hybrid schedule. You'd be working with some of the brightest lawyers in the field, which is a pretty solid perk if you ask me.

What You'll Actually Do

• Own the electronic filing system - every document has to be stored right and be easy to find later.
• Prep attorneys for meetings. That means getting materials ready, pulling files, making sure nobody walks into a room empty handed.
• Do legal research and draft documents under attorney supervision. This isn't busy work; you're contributing to real cases.
• Handle the scheduling circus: meetings, appointments, deadlines. Keep everything straight so nothing falls through the cracks.
• Talk to clients, court personnel, other professionals. You're the bridge between the attorneys and everyone else.
• Guard sensitive information like it's your job. Because it is.
• General admin stuff too: phones, filing, correspondence. The glue that holds the office together.

What You Need to Bring

• Five years minimum as a Legal Assistant or Practice Assistant, specifically supporting corporate finance attorneys. That's not negotiable.
• You're comfortable living in a digital world. Electronic files are your jam.
• Solid knowledge of legal terminology, regulations, and how the court system works.
• You write well and speak clearly. No jargon, just good communication.
• Organized to a fault. You can juggle five things at once and still know where everything is.
• Professional and discreet. You know when to talk and when to zip it.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and legal research software.
• A paralegal certification or relevant degree gives you a leg up, but it's not mandatory.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary lands between $70,000 and $100,000 per year. The benefits package is solid: a 401(k), paid parental leave, and they actually mean it when they talk about work life balance. Plus that hybrid schedule I mentioned.
