About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Telemetry RN spot on our Solid Organ Transplant PCU/Stepdown Unit in Fort Worth, TX. We just expanded from 18 to 30 beds, so we're building the team. It's a full time day shift role, 7 AM to 7 PM.
What you'll do here
You're the primary nurse for your patients. That means you own their care from the moment they come onto the unit. You'll assess them at admission and every shift after that; noticing subtle changes is a huge part of the job.
- Carry out procedures and monitoring as ordered by the providers.
- Your documentation needs to be thorough and timely. It tells the patient's story.
- Administer medications, watch for how the patient responds, and know exactly what to do if there's an unintended reaction.
- A big part of this is teaching. You'll explain conditions, treatment plans, and medications to patients and their families in a way that makes sense, without all the confusing medical jargon.
- You're responding to needs, but also anticipating them. It's about providing care that feels complete and compassionate.
What you need to bring
We need someone with a solid acute care foundation who wants to specialize in this kind of progressive care.
- You must be a Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree.
- Because we're a Magnet Hospital, you'll need to enroll in a BSN program within 12 months of starting and finish it within 24 months. We help with that.
- A minimum of one year of recent Acute Care RN experience is required.
- If you have PCU or Transplant experience, that's a major plus for us.
- You need your Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within your first 30 days.
- Your Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification has to be obtained within the first 6 months on the job.
