About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this job. It's for a Team Lead on the HRIS team here at American Airlines, based in Fort Worth, TX. You'd be leading the group that handles our SuccessFactors system, which is basically the backbone for a lot of our HR stuff; hiring, onboarding, employee records, all of that.

What you'd be doing

You're running the show for the HRIS administrators. That means managing and mentoring them day to day to make sure the work gets done right. You'll be the one setting the standards for how we document things, handle changes to the system, and test everything before it goes live.

  • Your hands will still be in the tech. You'll configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SuccessFactors modules like Recruiting, Onboarding, and Employee Central.
  • A big part of this is building things within the system: designing forms and workflows, managing data models, creating reports.
  • We're always trying to get better. You'll drive initiatives to improve our HR processes and how they work inside these systems.

What you need to bring

First off, you need a Bachelor’s degree. Something in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field works.

On top of that, we're looking for 4 years of experience working in HRIS administration. And within that time, at least 2 years where you were in a leadership or supervisory role. You've been responsible for guiding a team before.

  • The real nuts and bolts? You need hands on experience with SuccessFactors Employee Central and Recruiting/Onboarding modules.
  • You have to be strong at configuring an HRIS and figuring out what's wrong when it acts up.
  • It helps if you've worked in a large organization before; things are complex here.
  • A deep understanding of HR processes and compliance rules is a major plus.
  • Knowing how SuccessFactors talks to other big company systems would be great too.

A SuccessFactors certification in Employee Central or Recruiting/Onboarding is preferred but not an absolute deal breaker if your experience is solid.

The good stuff

The benefits are pretty straightforward and they start quickly.

  • The travel perks are what everyone asks about. You can fly standby almost anywhere we go; that's 365 destinations; and your family and friends can get in on it too.
  • Health benefits kick in on your first day: medical, dental, prescription drugs, vision. We also have virtual doctor visits and flexible spending accounts.
  • There are wellness programs with tools and resources if you want them.
  • The 401(k) plan is available as soon as you're hired. Depending on your workgroup, employer contributions start after one year.
  • A few other things: an Employee Assistance Program for life stuff; pet insurance; discounts on hotels, cars, cruises; that kind of thing.
