Supply Chain Analyst

BlueLinx is a leading wholesale distributor of building and industrial products across the United States. We're hiring an Inventory Analyst for our Fort Worth, TX branch. This role sits at the center of our operation ; balancing inventory against demand, keeping materials tracked, and making sure our teams have what they need to get orders out the door.

You'll work closely with sales, dispatch, and logistics. The Oracle Transportation Management System is a daily tool for you. You'll handle routing exceptions, coordinate deliveries, and keep everything moving. It's a Monday through Friday schedule, with a consistent workweek.

What you'll do

  • Work directly with the OTM system planner to verify and amend daily logistics routes for the branch
  • Coordinate with sales and operations to make sure customer orders are routed correctly ; with all changes and exceptions included in the next day's driver routes
  • Communicate daily routes to the sales staff
  • Analyze inventory levels, then work with sales to keep products available while minimizing inventory costs
  • Perform regular cycle counts and make adjustments when needed
  • Identify and process damaged inventory using BlueLinx processes and procedures
  • Keep accurate records of inventory levels and locations for easy retrieval
  • Balance inventory daily with yard and warehouse personnel, adjusting to physical counts
  • Help yard and warehouse staff locate items that might have incorrect locations or inventory numbers
  • Make sure work orders are correct and fully completed, with stock allocated properly
  • Collaborate with sales to revise production schedules when there are material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions
  • Ensure materials are ready and available for remanufacturing production when needed
  • Chase down any materials holding up remanufacturing production until they're received
  • Process remanufacturing orders after material is released from Reman, then cost the finished product
  • Participate in physical inventories and reconcile records for a complete and accurate count
  • Coordinate drop off and pick up of trucks and trailers in and out of the shop
  • Dispatch tire repair and roadside service as needed
  • Communicate with drivers about delivery discrepancies
  • Adjust delivery routes in coordination with the Route Planner
  • Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventory control reporting for the Operations Manager and GM

What you'll need

  • High school diploma
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the lumber distribution business
  • Prior inventory related experience ; 5 or more years preferred
  • Exceptional recordkeeping and product maintenance skills
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing large volumes of data
  • The ability to use analytical thinking to foresee supply patterns
