Safety Engineer

51905 HROC LLC·Fort Worth, TX

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this job. It's for a Safety Engineer with Heidelberg Materials in Fort Worth, TX. I've been placing folks in industrial roles for over a decade, and this one has a specific focus that might not be obvious from the title. You're not just checking boxes on a safety audit list. You're the person who uses data and engineering principles to stop equipment failures before they happen, which is the bedrock of real plant safety and reliability. If you geek out on vibration analysis, root cause failure reports, and optimizing maintenance strategies across multiple sites, you should keep reading.

The Work

You'll lead reliability engineering for several cement plants from a central hub. Your main goal is to improve how equipment performs, keep it running longer, and make maintenance spending more effective.

  • Use condition monitoring tech every day; think vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis; to check equipment health.
  • Dig into reliability data and key performance indicators, then turn what you find into actual maintenance plans that get done.
  • When something breaks or underperforms, you'll facilitate the root cause analysis. This isn't about a one time fix; it's making sure corrective actions stick and are tracked long term.
  • You're collaborating directly with plant maintenance teams. Together, you'll optimize preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, plan outages better, and shape asset performance strategy.
  • A big part of the job is driving continuous improvement and helping these facilities implement corporate maintenance and reliability programs.
  • You'll also develop spare parts management strategies. That means identifying critical spares, making sure they're available when needed, optimizing inventory levels, and keeping costs in check across all the plants you support.

What You Need to Bring

This isn't an entry level gig. They need someone who already speaks the language of heavy industry reliability.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or something closely related is required.
  • You must have demonstrated experience in reliability engineering. They specifically want it from a cement plant, a heavy industrial setting, or continuous manufacturing environment.
  • A strong working knowledge of core reliability principles is non negotiable. That includes condition based maintenance practices and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • You need to be proficient with predictive maintenance technologies and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • The role demands strong analytical and problem solving skills. Project management ability is key because you'll be supporting multiple sites remotely.
  • This isn't a purely desk job. You have to be willing to travel to the plant sites and corporate locations for inspections meetings project implementation as needed

The Setup & The Offer

The role is based in Fort Worth, TX, but you're providing remote support to a group of cement plants within a region. Travel to those sites is part of the deal for inspections meetings project work etcetera
