About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Oncology RN spot on the Blood Cancer unit at Medical City Dallas in Fort Worth, TX.

What You'll Be Doing

You're providing direct patient care for oncology patients, with a focus on blood cancers and disorders. Your work stays within the Texas Nursing Practice Act, and you'll use the nursing process to drive patient outcomes.

What You Need to Have

  • You must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • A current RN license for Texas or a compact state is required.
  • Your BLS needs to be from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
  • If you were hired after June 1st, 2012, you'll need to get your BSN within 24 months of starting the RN role.

Certs & Training After You Start

A couple of important notes on certifications. These are required after hire or transfer:

  • Effective October 2023, you need an ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within six months.
  • Also effective October 2023, you must complete the ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course within your first 60 days.
