About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this press operator role. I've been placing folks in manufacturing for over a decade, and when a company like MCC has been around for more than a hundred years, they usually have their act together. They're looking for someone who knows their way around a flexographic press in Fort Worth, TX.
This isn't just about pushing buttons. You're the one making sure the labels coming off the line look perfect and match exactly what the customer ordered. It's a hands on job where you own the process from setup to cleanup.
What you'll do on shift
- Start every job by setting up the press right. You'll check the job ticket and specs to confirm you've got the correct print cylinders, inks, materials, and anilox rollers before you run anything.
- Your main focus is keeping quality consistent through the whole production run. That means constant checks on copy, color match, registration, and how well the ink sticks.
- You're responsible for all the press side quality checks and measurements outlined in our procedures. If it's not right, you catch it.
- Efficiency matters here. You'll aim to complete make readies quickly and operate the press to hit targets for quality, waste reduction, and speed.
- Keeping things clean and lubricated is part of the deal. Cleaning plates, cylinders, ink pans; it's all part of maintaining your machine.
- You'll log all your material usage and time accurately in our Radius system as you go.
- Safety is non negotiable. You follow all plant rules, report any concerns immediately, and keep your work area tidy with daily housekeeping.
- A chunk of your time will also be spent on required equipment maintenance duties.
The background we need
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- We need at least one year of experience running a flexo printing press. Formal training in that area counts too.
- If you've got experience with embellishment processes on top of standard printing, that's a definite plus for us.
The details & what we offer
The pay range starts between $25 and $32 an hour. Where you land depends on your direct experience. There's also a shift differential on top of that base rate.
We're offering a $5,000 sign on bonus. You'll get that after your successful 90 day evaluation. Refer someone else we hire? There's a bonus for that too.
The schedule is full time hours on second shift (afternoon/evening).
