About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this role. It's a risk management position specifically for Fidelity's digital asset and crypto businesses. You're not just looking at spreadsheets; you're digging into blockchain data, market trends, and internal controls to figure out what could go wrong before it does. The goal is to protect the firm and its clients by spotting risks early.
What you'll be doing
The core of the job is turning complex data into clear insights for leadership. You'll analyze information from multiple sources; industry reports, market feeds, our own systems; to identify new or hidden risks.
- Build tools and reports that measure risk trends using data visualization software.
- Your analysis will lead to targeted risk assessments and comprehensive management reports.
- A big part of the work is partnering with business units to check if their controls are effective and finding ways to make processes better.
- You'll also perform quality control reviews on team presentations and reports to ensure everything is accurate and solid.
The expertise you bring
We need someone who understands both finance and this new digital asset space. A formal background in risk or compliance is key, but so is a genuine curiosity about how crypto markets work.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- You need at least five years of relevant work experience in the financial industry. Direct crypto experience is a strong preference.
- Your background should be in Compliance, Risk, or Operations related to crypto or blockchain products and data.
- You've got proven analytical skills and can summarize data from different places into something coherent.
- Experience working with blockchain technology or related companies is important.
- You must have executive level presentation skills and project management experience.
Skills that will help you stand out
Some extra capabilities would really make a difference here. They aren't strict requirements, but they're definite advantages.
- Experience with data analysis techniques and visualization tools like Tableau.
- Familiarity with common data science tools and programming languages (SQL was mentioned as a plus).
- A CFA or FRM certification would be great to see.
- A foundational understanding of how blockchain technology works under the hood.
The kind of person we need
The technical stuff matters, but how you work matters just as much. This area moves fast, and priorities can change quickly.
