The Gist of It
Cargill's protein and salt business is looking for an HVAC Technician in Fort Worth, TX. This isn't a desk job. You'll be working on a 3rd shift, keeping the facility's refrigeration and environmental equipment running. The pay range is $33.00 - $41.00 per hour, and it's a full time role.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Maintaining, repairing, and upgrading all Ammonia and Freon refrigeration and environmental equipment in the building.
- Using hand tools to perform mechanical maintenance on machinery.
- Working in a cold environment ; that comes with the territory.
- Completing Hazmat training as needed.
- Keeping up with food safety, quality standards, and general housekeeping.
- Maintaining electrical and control circuits tied to refrigeration equipment.
- Cleaning coils and other equipment.
- Maintaining evaporative condenser units.
- Repairing and maintaining Freon condenser and evaporator coils.
- Repairing or replacing fan motors and fan blades.
- Installing and repairing valves and other components in ammonia systems.
- Using math to document system changes ; levels, pressures, things like that.
- Using a computer for data entry.
- Keeping the work environment safe.
What You Need to Bring
These are non negotiable. If you don't meet them, this isn't the right fit.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
- At least 18 years old.
- Can read, write, and speak English.
- 6 months of maintenance experience.
- 1 year of industrial maintenance experience, or a technical training program that's at least 7 months long.

- A RETA CARO certification.
- Previous experience working at Cargill.
The Schedule and Location
This is a 3rd shift role in Fort Worth, TX. The company won't cover relocation for this position, so plan accordingly.
