About This Role

What this role is all about

This Travel Registered Nurse position is for someone who's comfortable moving between short term and long term assignments across Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. You'll need to adapt quickly to different facilities while keeping your care standards solid and consistent.

As a Travel RN, you're not just doing clinical work. You're leading the patient care staff on your shift, making sure medications and treatments happen correctly, documentation is on point, and families are kept in the loop. You'll handle care planning and patient care conferences too, all within the Health Campus Policies and Procedures.

What you'll actually do

  • Lead a team of direct care providers to ensure medications, treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning, and patient care conferencing are executed properly and in compliance with Health Campus policies
  • Use the nursing process to deliver patient care and keep continuity from admission through discharge and return to family and community
  • Visit residents on your assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate each person's physical and emotional status
  • Notify the charge nurse, physician, or Director of Nursing when a resident's condition changes
  • Identify resident problems and emergency situations and start lifesaving measures immediately if a physician isn't available
  • Handle administrative tasks like completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as needed

What you need to bring

  • A current, valid state RN license that you'll maintain throughout employment
  • A current, valid CPR certification
  • 3 5 years of relevant experience is preferred
  • A valid and unencumbered driver's license

Where you'll be working

This is a travel role with assignments in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky. Your home base location is Fort Wayne, IN.
