Systems Engineer

Job Overview

This Systems Engineer role is about building the reliable foundation everything else runs on. You'll work with a team that designs, implements, and maintains critical infrastructure, solving problems before they become outages. Duties & Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy server infrastructure, both on premises and in the cloud.
• Automate repetitive tasks and deployments using scripting and configuration management tools.
• Monitor system health and performance, responding to alerts that come in at any hour.
• Lead incident response for major outages, from troubleshooting to writing the post mortem.
• Plan and execute system upgrades and migrations with minimal user disruption.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for network diagrams, runbooks, and disaster recovery plans.

Requirements

• A solid grasp of Linux/Unix or Windows Server administration isn't just preferred; it's essential.
• Hands on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• You've managed systems in a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) before.
• Scripting is second nature; you use Python, Bash, or PowerShell to make your life easier.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience will get you through the door.
• The job can involve being on call. You need to stay calm under pressure when a page goes off at 3 AM.
