Registered Nurse
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this nursing job at Encompass Health in Erie, PA. I've been placing people here for a while, and they run a serious operation. It's inpatient rehab, so you're seeing patients through a really specific part of their recovery. It's tough work, but the team vibe is strong and you get to see progress in a way that's pretty unique.
The Work You'll Do
You're the RN running the show for your patients. You'll supervise their care and treatments, lead assessments, and build out their individual care plans. A big part of this is listening; really hearing patient concerns and figuring out how to address them to make their path smoother.
You're also the connection point. That means building real relationships with patients and their families to understand what they need to heal. And it means collaborating daily with therapy teams, doctors, and other departments to make sure everyone is coordinated. Sometimes you're planning and directing; sometimes you're jumping in to provide hands on care yourself.
On top of that, you're a go to resource for other staff. They'll come to you with questions or for support on more complex cases. And honestly, one of the best parts is being there to celebrate when a patient hits a milestone. Those victories matter.
What You Need to Bring
- A valid RN license for the state.
- Current CPR certification. If you've got ACLS too, that's a definite plus.
- They'd love it if you have your CRRN certification, but it's not a deal breaker starting out.
- Ideally, you've got about a year of experience working in a rehabilitation hospital setting. You'll know if that world is for you.
The Schedule & The Offer
This is a full time position. Now, about that sign on bonus: it's $10,000. That's real. The pay range itself? We need to talk details one on one based on your specific background; it scales with your experience in rehab nursing.
Benefits That Start Day One
- Medical, dental, and vision plans. They're designed to be affordable for you and your family if you're on the full time or part time schedule.
- Paid time off that builds up as you're here longer.
- They'll help with tuition if you want to advance your education.
- There's a 401(k) plan with a company match and an option to buy company stock.
- You can set up flexible spending or health savings accounts.
