About This Role
Hey there. I've been recruiting nurses for over a decade, and I know a serious opportunity when I see one. This isn't just another nursing job; it's a leadership role in a specialized unit at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX. If you're an RN with critical care experience who's ready to step up and coordinate a team, let's talk.
The Role
You'd be the Clinical Coordinator for Cardio Vascular services. That means you're supervising the daily activities of the department to make sure patient care stays top notch. You'll coordinate the staff to meet patient needs and act as the go to expert for education and leadership within the unit.
You won't be doing this alone. You'll collaborate with the full Cardio Vascular Team to build educational programs that keep everyone sharp on current cardiology trends. A big part of your focus will be on continuous improvement; you'll develop, implement, and maintain quality initiatives and oversee the department's QI/PI program. That includes performing chart audits to improve documentation, ensure procedures are charged correctly, and reduce risk.
You'll also anticipate staffing needs based on what's happening in the department and work with the Director on projects that enhance the quality of everything your team does.
What You Absolutely Need
- Your RN license from Texas or a compact state.
- Current Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
- A minimum of a Nursing Diploma.
- Critical Care experience. That's non negotiable for this unit.
The Stuff That Will Make You Stand Out
We're looking for more than just checked boxes. The ideal person brings depth to the role.
- You need to read and write basic English well enough to transfer physician orders and document in medical records.
- The job involves moving patients, sometimes over 100 pounds, with help from others or equipment.
- A solid grasp of age appropriate medication dosages and the meds commonly used in critical care is important.
- You should be knowledgeable about hemodynamic monitoring and intra aortic balloon pumping.
- This is a leadership position. You've got to be able to manage a team and work collaboratively within one to ensure quality care.
- Strong critical thinking skills aren't just a nice to have here; you'll need them every day to solve problems.
