What You Absolutely Need to Have

First up, your licenses and certs. These aren't preferences; they're mandatory from day one.

  • A current Texas RN license or a compact state license.
  • Your BCLS certification.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
  • A Stable Course certification.

For your education, you need to be a graduate from an accredited program. That means either an Associate Degree in Nursing, an RN Diploma program, or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
