About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Med/Surg Renal RN spot at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX.
This isn't about being a cog in a machine. It's about having the actual tools and support to do your job well. You're looking at strong float pool backup, tech that actually helps with patient monitoring and communication, and supply chains that don't leave you hanging. They're serious about ongoing clinical education, too; HCA Healthcare owns Galen College of Nursing, so they make it more accessible to get certifications and build skills. The idea is simple: give you what you need so you can focus on the patient care part.
The Work
You'll be providing medical treatment and personal care for ill and injured patients on a medical surgical renal unit. That means a full range of nursing care for patients with various physical or behavioral problems.
- Assessing each patient during admission and every shift, watching closely for any changes in status.
- Performing procedures and monitoring as ordered, with thorough documentation in the patient record.
- Your day involves administering prescribed meds, monitoring therapeutic response, and taking action if there's an unintended reaction.
- A big piece is responding to requests quickly and anticipating patient needs before they become issues.
- You'll educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, treatment plans, medications; including possible side effects; and follow up care. Translating complex medical info into something understandable is key here.
