About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Maintenance Technician spot in El Paso, TX. This isn't a desk job. You're the first line of defense when something on the production line hiccups, and you're the one making sure it doesn't happen again. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
What you'll be doing
You're solving problems and keeping things running. One minute you might be tearing down a machine for a rebuild, the next you could be installing something brand new. It's hands on, every day.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make repairs on the spot.
- Handle preventative maintenance so small problems don't become big ones.
- Overhaul existing equipment and get new machines installed and running.
- Fabricate and rebuild parts when you need to.
- Keep your work area clean and safe; facility maintenance is part of the deal.
- Set up production lines and manage equipment change overs.
- Order parts to keep inventory stocked and complete assigned work orders.
The background we're looking for
A high school diploma or GED is required. On the job experience matters most here. We need someone who's spent some time; anywhere from brand new to about five years; in an industrial maintenance setting. If you've got even a year of mechanical or electrical experience, that's a big plus. Experience in a fast paced industrial environment is key.
- You've got a knack for figuring out how things work and fixing them; diagnostic and preventative maintenance experience is preferred.
- You can read manufacturer specs and schematics without getting lost.
- A basic comfort level with computers is necessary.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) would be great.
- A Refrigeration or HVAC trade certification is looked upon favorably, but it's not a must have.
- Be prepared to bring your own basic hand tools.
The details
The pay starts between $35.08 and $42.88 an hour, depending on what you bring to the table. And there are ways to earn more on top of that base rate.
