General Laborer

Alright, let's talk about this job. It's a hands on utility role at MV Transportation in El Paso, TX. You're the person who makes sure our buses and vans are ready to roll, looking clean, fueled up, and safe for the drivers and passengers. It's physical work that keeps things moving.

What you'll be doing

Your main focus is getting our fleet prepped for service. That means a mix of tasks that change with the time of day.

• Fueling vehicles and topping off all fluid levels so they're ready to go.
• A thorough cleaning of bus interiors, following our specific contract standards.
• Washing the exterior and cleaning the inside of all fleet and relief vehicles.
• If you spot any new damage on a vehicle that hasn't been reported, you document it and tell the right people.
• Keeping the yard and shop buildings clean and maintained is part of it, too.
• And there will be other duties as they come up; we all pitch in where needed.

What you need to bring

We need someone reliable who can handle the physical side of the work and follow procedures carefully.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• You've got to be at least 21 years old with a good driving record.
• The schedule varies and includes weekends; you need to be available for that.
• You should have some general knowledge of OSHA and EPA rules for shops like ours.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a big plus. Knowing different cleaning methods helps.
• This is a physical job. You must be able to lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds on your own.
• You'll be working with various cleaning compounds, solvents, and chemicals safely.
• The ability to understand instructions in English; both written and spoken; and follow them effectively is essential for safety and communication.
• We trust you to work well without someone looking over your shoulder every minute.
