About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job. It's for a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in the Emergency Room at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX. This isn't just another staff nurse position; you're the one running the show on your shift. You'll be making sure everything flows, that the care is top notch, and that the team has what they need to do their jobs. If you're ready to step up from bedside care into a leadership role where you can really impact how an ER operates, this could be it.
What You'll Be Doing
You're the point person for the unit during your shift. Your main focus is coordinating high quality, patient centered care and making sure all the department functions run smoothly.
- You'll handle patient admission and discharge to keep things moving efficiently without sacrificing care.
- A big part of your day is assessing and monitoring the quality of care we're delivering, working right alongside the rest of the management team.
- Building a real team environment is key. You'll collaborate with managers and experts to improve our outcomes and service.
- When something doesn't go perfectly for a patient, you're involved in service recovery. The patient first philosophy isn't just a slogan here.
- You'll help put our nursing engagement strategies into action; think things like employee rounding and hourly patient rounds.
- We'll want your input on hiring new staff, from interviews to training.
- You'll recommend actions on staff development, conflict resolution, policy issues, performance reviews, and if needed, disciplinary steps.
- The schedule? That's partly on you too. You'll assist with staff scheduling.
- Managing staff labor according to patient needs and our productivity guidelines is a practical reality of the job.
- And you'll help manage our supplies and equipment, supporting proper inventory control.
