What You’ll Do at Las Palmas Medical Center

This isn't a run of the mill nursing role. As a Cath Lab RN at our 300+ bed hospital, you’re stepping into a place that actually backs you up ; with mentorship programs, clinical education courses, and a nationwide transfer policy so you can move your career when life demands it. You’ll work directly with patients, their families, and the rest of the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate treatment plans. It’s hands on, collaborative, and nothing less than what the region’s only kidney transplant center and Level III trauma center requires.

You’ll follow the policies and procedures set by Las Palmas & Del Sol Medical Center and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Every shift, you’re making real decisions about patient care in a fast moving cardiac environment.

What You’ll Need to Bring

• A current RN license in the State of Texas or a Compact State
• BCLS certification
• ACLS certification
• An Associate Degree in Nursing or a nursing diploma at minimum
• Critical care experience ; this is a must, not a nice to have

What We’d Love to See (but Isn’t Required)

• Cardiac Catheterization laboratory or Cardiology Service experience
• The ability to read and write Basic English, enough to understand and transcribe physician’s orders
• Physical capability to move over 100 pounds with help from other staff
• A real knack for listening, showing empathy, and responding to patients, families, and external partners
• Solid knowledge of dosages, Critical Care drugs, and nursing protocols
• Understanding of EKG arrhythmia, hemodynamic monitoring, and intra aortic balloon pumping
• Computer skills ; you’ll use them daily
• Team management and collaboration skills to ensure quality patient care
• Strong problem solving skills
