Environmental Services Tech

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this job. It's not your typical entry level gig. You'd be starting in a paid, 12 week training program designed to get you ready to run your own show; managing the housekeeping, laundry, and floor care operations at a long term care facility in Durham, NC. Think of it as a fast track to becoming an Environmental Services Manager.

What You'd Be Doing

The training is hands on and computer based. You're learning by doing, with the goal of taking over your own account. Your days will be full and varied.

  • You'll assist in supervising the housekeeping, laundry, and floor care teams.
  • A big part of the role is learning how to keep everything compliant with company policies and state or federal rules.
  • Helping with staff training, development schedules, and daily scheduling is part of the deal.
  • There's record keeping for supplies, equipment, personnel, and finances.
  • You act as the main point of contact between the facility's administration and our staff, so clear communication is everything.
  • And you'll handle other duties as they come up; it's a management training role, so you've got to be ready for anything.

What We Need From You

We're looking for someone who's ready to build a career, not just fill a seat. Here’s what matters:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality gives you a good foundation; that’s preferred too.
  • You need solid computer skills for record keeping and web based reports.
  • The job requires you to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. You'll be on your feet, bending and walking for most of the day.
  • You have to be comfortable performing routine tasks continuously and working around food and cleaning products.
  • Following both spoken and written instructions carefully is non negotiable.
  • You must live within the service area of Durham, NC.
  • Compliance with our COVID 19 vaccination policy is required for this position.

The Pay & The Perks

The pay rate for this training role is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. And the benefits kick in from day one for all employees.

  • The medical, dental, and vision package is comprehensive.
  • You get free telemedicine services starting on your first day (not available in Arkansas).
  • There's a free prescription discount program to help with costs.
  • A financial wellness program through PNC Workplace Banking lets you access your earned pay when you need it.

The support doesn't stop there. We offer employee assistance programs (EAPs), plenty of training and development opportunities (that’s the whole point of this role), employee recognition programs we actually use, an employee stock purchase plan if you want in on that.
