The Gist
This is for a Project Engineer role with an established Connecticut contractor. They've been around for over 65 years and focus on framing, drywall, ceiling systems, and general trades work across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The pay range is $70,000 to $75,000 per year.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare, process, and track submittals from start to finish.
- Issue RFIs and track them with project managers, then distribute answers to field crews and subcontractors.
- Create and keep material procurement logs up to date.
- Put together jobsite scope binders, plans, and construction documents the field team can actually use.
- Help project managers with print markups using tools like Bluebeam.
- Update project schedules alongside the rest of the team.
- Use project management and accounting software like Sage 300 or Timberline accurately.
- Keep professional lines of communication open with subcontractors and the whole construction team.
- Follow up and follow through consistently with everyone involved ; internal and external.
What You'll Need to Bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or something closely related ; that's preferred, not mandatory.
- Real, proven experience in construction management or as a project engineer.
- Solid skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), Bluebeam, and ProCore.
- The ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings without getting lost.
- Excellent time management and a knack for juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
- A positive attitude and the flexibility to adapt when things shift quickly.
