Manpower Engineering is working with a manufacturing client in Detroit, MI that needs an Electrical Engineer for their Plant Engineering Department. You'll be working directly with Operations, Maintenance, and Facilities teams ; not sitting behind a desk all day. This is a hands on role where you'll solve real problems and keep things running.

What you'll actually be doing

• Plan, design, and implement electrical systems and plant infrastructure projects from start to finish
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with facility equipment and utilities ; when something breaks, you figure out why and fix it
• Support and maintain HVAC, boilers, electrical distribution, and life safety systems across the plant
• Manage engineering projects, coordinating with both internal teams and outside contractors
• Find ways to improve energy efficiency in manufacturing systems and infrastructure ; it saves money and makes the plant run better

What you need to bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (or the equivalent)
• At least 5 years of plant or facility engineering experience ; this isn't your first rodeo
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA) and NFPA 70E standards
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools
• The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, prints, and schematics without breaking a sweat
• Solid communication skills ; you can explain technical stuff to people who aren't engineers
• Analytical problem solving that actually works in the real world

The details

This is a contract position in Detroit, MI. Pay ranges from $56 to $64 per hour, depending on your experience and qualifications.
