About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Nurse Practitioner role with HarmonyCares in Des Moines, IA. I've been placing providers with them for a while. They run a tight ship, but the people who thrive there really love the model. You're not running a typical clinic. You're going into patients' homes, which is a whole different ballgame.

  • Patient confidentiality isn't just a policy; it's how you operate every day.

There's also an expectation to attend required meetings and in services. Participating in committees or professional development activities to maintain your licenses is part of keeping sharp in this field.

  • Your EHR skills need to be outstanding. No getting around that.

A few things that would make you stand out

If you've got these, you'll probably hit the ground running faster.

  • Any formal geriatric training or direct experience working with older adults is a huge plus.
  • A real skill for teamwork. Building effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public matters here.

The reality of the job

Let's be straight about the conditions. It's not sitting in an office all day.
