
About This Role
What you'll do
You'll work as an Urgent Care Provider at UCHealth in Denver, CO. This is a full time, onsite role in the Northfield Medical Center. Your shift will be days, and you'll work 68.00 hours per pay period (that's two weeks).
You'll provide emergent and urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse. Here's what that looks like day to day:
- Coordinate the flow of patients through the department to keep things moving. Let patients know about any delays.
- Watch patients closely and tell the provider or RN right away if someone seems distressed.
- Prepare patients for their visit with the provider and help out before, during, and after exams.
- Insert Foley catheters, do complex splinting, and perform venipuncture for drawing blood or inserting a saline lock.
- Keep exam and treatment rooms and other areas clean and organized. Clean equipment according to guidelines.
- Make sure supply levels stay where they should be. Order supplies when directed.
This job calls for critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with very little supervision. You'll need to take appropriate action quickly.
What you need
Here are the requirements to be considered for this role:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You must have the card in hand before your start date. The card needs to be good through at least 60 days from hire.
- IV proficiency per department guidelines within 6 months (tracked at the department level)
- One of these credentials: CMA, RMA, state licensure as an EMT, EMT I, or Paramedic, completion of a military medic course (no renewal needed), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- No minimum experience required
Pay
The pay range is $21.49 to $27.94 per hour. Your exact rate depends on your relevant experience.
