Tutor / Academic Mentor

Sittercity·Denver, CO

About This Role

What you'll do here

You'll tutor two kids ; an 8 year old and a 4 year old ; twice a week. Sessions are on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This starts June 1, 2026.

The focus is homework help and learning support, tailored to each child's level. You break concepts down in fun, easy to understand ways. And you keep both kids motivated throughout. All learning materials are provided, so you don't have to bring anything.

A parent or older sibling will be home during the sessions. So you aren't alone, and there's always someone available if needed.

Who you are

  • Patient and engaging ; you genuinely like working with young kids.
  • Able to explain things clearly, without making anyone feel lost or frustrated.
  • Comfortable adapting your approach for different ages and skill levels.
  • An education student, someone with teaching experience, or just someone who's great with kids and has a knack for teaching.
  • Available on the specific days and times listed. But the family can be flexible with the exact timing within that window, so let them know what works for you.

A few more details

This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children and wants a consistent, part time schedule. You get to work with the same two kids each week, building real rapport and seeing their progress over time. It's a steady gig through the summer and beyond, if things go well.

You're not responsible for childcare outside of tutoring ; no meals, no naps, no diaper changes. Just teaching and mentoring.

Compensation and any benefits would be discussed directly with the family during the interview process. Bring it up if you have questions.
