The Work
You'd be working directly with patients in a behavioral health setting. This isn't just passing meds; it's about building trust and providing real support during a tough time.
- Start with initial patient assessments and build individualized care plans alongside a team of doctors and therapists.
- Your day includes administering psychotropic medications, watching closely for how they work and for any side effects.
- A big part of the job is giving emotional support, using proven communication methods with both patients and their families.
- You'll run group therapy sessions and workshops that teach patients about mental health and wellness.
- The whole team works together on everything from daily care to planning for a patient's discharge and what comes after.
What You Need to Bring
We need someone who knows this world. The details matter, so here’s what’s required.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or something higher from an accredited program.
- An active RN license with no issues on it.
- At least one year of experience working in behavioral health. Experience in an inpatient or outpatient environment is preferred.
- A solid, working understanding of psychotropic medications; you need to know how they work, their side effects, and the right way to give them.
- A clear sense of ethics. You must keep patient confidentiality and follow the professional standards set by the American Nurses Association (ANA).

- Job Types: You can go full time, part time, or pick up per diem shifts.
- The pay range for this role is $60,150 to $100,000 per year.
