
About This Role
The Role
Sturgeon Electric Company needs a Project Engineer I in Denver, CO. It's a construction management support role in the electrical construction industry. You will work on projects for federal, state, and municipal clients across the United States.
The main job is helping senior project managers keep everything running. That means working with plans, specifications, and the people involved in the project.
What You'll Actually Do
- Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Review plans and specifications, then create a checklist of contract items that need regular attention
- List what subcontractors must submit for approval before they start work
- Help with cost estimates and project scheduling when needed
- Keep accurate records and prepare statements of work, submittals, change management documents, and daily or weekly reports
- Promote safety on the job and make sure everyone follows safety requirements
- Inspect equipment, materials, workmanship, and finished construction
- Check work progress in the field to ensure procedures and materials match specifications
- Show up regularly and predictably
- Other tasks as assigned
You'll also need to understand and follow our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy. This work happens in a Company designated office or field location.
Who You Are
You have 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial electrical construction or general construction. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field helps, but we'll consider a combination of education and experience instead.
Transmission and Distribution experience in electrical construction is preferred.
- You can read blueprints and drawings
- You're proficient with Microsoft Office
- You have strong analytical and organizational skills, and you get along with people
- You know Microsoft Project or Primavera at an intermediate level or higher
- You solve problems practically but still pay attention to details
Compensation
Salary ranges from $58,500 to $80,000 per year, paid weekly. The exact number depends on your experience. These ranges are made in good faith, and MYR Group can adjust them based on the selected candidate's qualifications.
