NICU RN

HCA HealthONE Rose·Denver, CO

About This Role

NICU RN

Hey there. I'm recruiting for the NICU at HCA HealthONE Rose in Denver, CO. This isn't a corporate ad; it's me telling you about the job. We need an RN who knows their stuff with premature and ill newborns.

The pay range is $36.50 to $55.25 an hour. Just so we're clear, that's the typical hiring range. Where you land depends on your specific skills and experience, and most folks are hired below the midpoint.

What you'll do here

You're responsible for the care of our NICU patients, from admission on. Your day is about delivering care that's right for each individual baby; you're thinking about their physical needs, of course, but also the psychosocial, cultural, and safety factors.

  • You oversee and direct assistive personnel. The buck stops with you for your assigned patients.
  • Acting as the primary nurse, you lead the collaboration between all the different disciplines involved in a patient's care.
  • The goal is to optimize quality of life, looking beyond just the medical chart to the whole person.
  • You might float to support the Well Baby Nursery or Pediatrics, but only for duties where you've shown competency.
  • A specific part of this role involves performing assigned lab testing. You'll follow protocols, document results, and communicate critical findings.
  • That means maintaining competencies, following safety guidelines, completing maintenance and QC documentation, and handling proficiency testing.
  • If there's an issue with a test system or result, you initiate corrective action. And just a heads up: educational records like a diploma or transcript are mandatory for this non waived testing.

Schedule & Support

This position has call responsibilities. You'll take call and meet the shift requirements set by the department.

But you aren't alone. We've got strong float pool support for when things get intense. You'll have technology that streamlines patient monitoring and communication to cut down on clutter. Our supply chains are robust so you stay equipped. And there's ongoing clinical education available because getting better at your job never stops.

What you need to bring

  • A graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required; a BSN is preferred.
  • A current Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a current active multistate RN license.
  • Your BLS certification needs to be from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • You must have your NRP and STABLE certifications.
  • We're looking for 1 to 2 years of acute care specialty nursing experience.

The benefits side of things

HCA HealthONE Rose offers a total rewards package that covers health, life, career, and retirement.
