What you'd be doing

You're the nurse running the show for your patients. You'll supervise their care and treatments, do the initial assessments, and build the care plans. A big part of it is listening; really understanding patient concerns and what their family needs to feel supported.

• Sometimes that means jumping in to provide direct patient care yourself.

What you need to bring

First thing: a valid RN license for the state. You also need current CPR certification. If you've got your ACLS, that's a definite plus.

A year of experience working in a rehabilitation hospital setting would be ideal. If you're already a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), that's perfect. If not, it's something they prefer and likely support you getting.
