Team Lead

The Role

This is a Team Lead position at ALPLA in Dayton, OH. You'll be the person on the floor making sure the packaging operation runs without a hitch. You'll coordinate with the Shift Supervisor on what the production equipment needs, and you'll make sure every line has the materials it needs. Labels, cartons, trays ; you're the one keeping them flowing.

You'll conduct PPE compliance audits throughout every shift, checking that everyone's following safety requirements. When Packaging Operators need help, you step in. You'll also set up and run multiple types of packaging equipment: carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, palletization equipment, and more.

You'll lead rework operations yourself, auditing processes to make sure procedures are followed and paperwork is done right. In facilities where labeling is manual, you'll check that labels match the product. You'll manage and assign break schedules for packers. And you'll support troubleshooting and training for them, plus audit their standard work, quality checks, and documentation.

• Completion of the staffing report for packer staff
• Completion of package paperwork
• Keeping packer training documentation updated and complete

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 6 months of Packaging Operator experience (preferred)
• Some lead experience (preferred)
• Good mechanical skills
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for a minimum of 12 hours
• Comfort working with multiple types of equipment at the same time

Physical Demands

You'll stand, walk, and reach with your hands and arms regularly. Occasionally you'll need to climb or balance. You'll frequently use your hands to finger, handle, or feel, and you'll stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Talking and hearing are also frequent. Sitting is occasional. You'll regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. Close vision is required. And you're expected to act safely and follow all ALPLA policies, procedures, and OSHA standards at all times.
