Telemetry RN

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this travel nurse job in Dallas, TX.

It's a 13 week contract for a Telemetry RN. You know the drill: patients are stepping down from ICU but still need that extra level of monitoring. It's specialized work, and it's not easy, but it's the kind of nursing where you can really see your impact.

The Work

You're the eyes and ears for these patients. You'll be watching cardiac rhythms and vital signs like a hawk, catching any changes before they become problems. A big part of the day is administering meds and treatments, especially those focused on cardiac care.

You'll prep for procedures, assist physicians, and document everything thoroughly; from initial assessments to patient education on heart health. It's about managing complex needs and collaborating with the whole care team to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. And when a cardiac emergency happens, you're responding based on strict protocols; your judgment in those moments is everything.

  • Monitor and interpret telemetry data to detect abnormalities.
  • Administer medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and exams.
  • Keep detailed records of patient conditions, reactions, and your interventions.
  • Develop and initiate patient education plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care.

What You Need to Have

The non negotiables are pretty clear here. They need someone who's been doing this specific job recently.

  • A full year of recent experience as a Stepdown/Telemetry RN.
  • A current, valid RN license for the state you'll be working in.
  • Your BLS Certification from the AHA or ARC has to be current.
  • The same goes for your ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC).

What Would Be Great to See

If you've gone the extra mile with certifications, that definitely stands out.

  • A Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification is a big plus.
  • NIHSS Certification is also preferred.

The Practical Stuff & Benefits

This is a travel assignment, so you're going for 13 weeks. The pay is highly competitive because they know what this specialty is worth. Fusion handles the benefits differently than some agencies; a lot of it kicks in right away.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance start on your first day.
