About This Role

What you'll do

You're a working lead. That means you'll perform all the duties of a CVT Technologist while also supervising, directing, and evaluating your team's activities.

Your day involves planning, coordinating, and running the QA program for your area. You'll supervise quality control testing on all the department's equipment and accessories. Patient safety, keeping things moving efficiently, controlling costs, and making sure patients are satisfied are all on your list.

You coordinate everything in your assigned area. That includes patient flow, safety, satisfaction for both patients and physicians, and making sure care is coordinated across different Radiology departments. It's on you to ensure full staffing coverage with competent people during all operating hours.

  • Assume the duties of a Technologist every shift.
  • Develop the annual departmental budget and focus on cost containment.
  • Make sure appropriate equipment and supplies are always available for your team.
  • Handle interviewing, selection, orientation, evaluation, promotions, and terminations within hospital and government guidelines.
  • Communicate and implement hospital policies within your department.
  • Meet with the Administrative & Medical Director to develop new programs and discuss their hospital wide impact.
  • Maintain communication within the department and with other departments.
  • Meet deadlines for gathering, reporting, and posting modality information.
  • Provide optimum customer service; greet people cordially and help patients get where they need to go.

The background you'll need

A graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program is required. You must have an ARRT certification in either Vascular Interventional Radiography (VIR) or Cardiac Interventional Radiography/Vascular Radiography (CIR/CV). We also need you to have ACLS certification and a current CPR card. An RCIS or RDCS certification is required too.

A TDH license is part of the package as well. Three years of related work experience is preferred but not an absolute deal breaker if you're strong everywhere else.

A few more specifics

This role cares for patients across a wide age range: from infants (0 18 months) up through adults 65+. You'll be working with confidential patient information daily. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a definite plus here. Computer experience, especially with Microsoft Office systems, is preferred.

The ability to communicate effectively; both talking and writing; with staff at all levels is crucial. You've got to be able to see things from a hospital wide perspective. Being organized and managing your time well matters in a job like this. We need someone who can stay calm under pressure when interacting with the public. And you should be ready to use value management techniques to find ways to improve processes or save costs.
