About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Perinatal Ultrasound Tech role at the MSO - MC Lewisville OB & MFM practice in Dallas, TX. It's part of HCA Healthcare. I've been placing folks in imaging roles for over a decade, and this one has some specific, interesting work.
What you'd be doing
You're applying fetal and gynecological ultrasound principles to evaluate patients and identify anomalies. That means scanning maternal uterus, cervix, and ovaries. You'll be looking for everything from CNS and cardiac issues in fetuses to fibroids or polyps.
- Operating GE, Accuson, Medison, and ATL ultrasound machines is part of the daily routine; staying up on the latest tech matters here.
- The job involves complicated twin and triplet scans as part of their multiple gestation service.
- You'll prepare patients for Level I & II ultrasounds, amniocentesis (including lung maturity), PUBS procedures, amino reductions, external cephalic versions, and GYN ultrasounds.
- Maintaining detailed logging records is key; past medical, surgical, obstetric, and genetic histories all need to be tracked.
- A big part of it is making preliminary diagnoses on fetal disorders and weight disturbances based on biometry. You're interpreting Biophysical Profiles independently to assess fetal well being.
- And you have to alert physicians immediately if you spot something that looks potentially dangerous.
It's a role where your judgement on the images directly informs patient care. You also keep things running smoothly with other staff members and hospital personnel.
The specifics we need
The baseline requirement is an Associate's degree in Ultrasound. A Bachelor's degree would give you a real edge.
- You must have your RDMS certification. No exceptions there.
- Having the RDMS – OB/GYN specialty credential is strongly preferred; it's basically what this whole job is built around.
The schedule & pay
This is a full time position. The schedule details aren't listed in the posting I have, so we'd confirm that during an initial call. The compensation package is comprehensive; they support it with a full suite of benefits which I've outlined below.
