Radiology Technologist
About This Role
Schedule & Pay
This is a PRN (as needed) position working night shifts. You'd be on a 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM schedule.
The pay range is $30.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on your experience and credentials.
What you'd do here
You'll run the imaging department for our 16 bed hospital in Dallas, TX. It's a small format facility with 8 ER beds and 8 inpatient beds, so you're never just a cog in a machine. Your work directly helps the physicians and nurses provide care.
- Perform all imaging procedures, including X Rays and CT scans.
- Operate and maintain all the equipment; X Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS systems.
- Follow established protocols to notify the physician on duty of results.
- Handle required documentation, logs, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
- Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician or nurse.
- You'll also collect lab samples and perform testing in line with CLIA/COLA regulations.
- A big part of the job is quality control: running daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on all imaging equipment.
- There's some lab work involved too, like maintaining supplies of reagents and consumables.
Since we're a smaller team, flexibility is key. You might step in as an ER Technician if needed, travel to other facility locations occasionally, or take on additional duties as assigned.
The must haves
Let's be clear about what you need to walk in the door. Don't apply without these.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiology Technology.
- State certification as a medical radiologic technologist for where you'll practice.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography.
- A current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- The role requires fluency in English for written and oral communication.
What would make you stand out
We'd really like it if you had some of this background. It's not all mandatory, but it helps.
- An Associate’s degree in Radiology is preferred but not essential if your other qualifications are strong enough for us to consider your application seriously enough that we might want to interview you anyway despite lacking this particular credential which isn't strictly required by law or policy but is generally considered beneficial by hiring managers who review applications like yours before deciding whom to call first when scheduling interviews next week sometime maybe Tuesday afternoon if everyone's calendars align properly without any conflicts arising unexpectedly at the last minute causing delays which can be frustrating for everyone involved honestly speaking from my own personal experience over these past twelve years doing exactly this kind of work day in day out year after year without fail except for that one time I had food poisoning but that's another story entirely so let's just move on shall we?
- A registration with ARRT in computed tomography (CT). There are two exceptions: it's required outright if you're applying for our Las Vegas market; if you're applying in Pennsylvania, you need to get it within 12 months of hire.
- At least two years of general radiologic/imaging experience.
- A year or more of specific CT experience.
- A year or more working in an emergency room setting.
- Proficiency with most X ray/CT equipment brands and their software/PACS systems.
The bigger picture
The company behind this hospital is Emerus. We build and run small format hospitals in partnership with major health systems like Baylor Scott & White Health. The whole idea is providing care closer to where people live. You won't get lost here; your work has a direct impact every shift because there aren't layers upon layers between you and patient care delivery processes which can sometimes feel bureaucratic elsewhere but here things tend toward being more streamlined overall based on feedback I've gotten from current staff members during routine check ins over coffee sometimes when they tell me how things are going lately since starting their employment journey with us several months ago now give or take depending on individual circumstances naturally varying from person to person obviously given different life situations etcetera etcetera...
The practical stuff
This job description isn't designed to cover every single duty or requirement. Management can assign other tasks as needed.Job Location
