Pharmacist

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Pharmacist role at Methodist Dallas. It's a clinical specialist position focused on critical care, which means you're in the thick of it. You're not just filling scripts; you're embedded with the medical teams making high stakes decisions.

The Work

You'll be providing pharmaceutical care for some of our most complex patients. Think of it as applying deep clinical knowledge in real time to optimize therapy and outcomes. It's technical work that demands precision and a collaborative mindset. You're part of a multidisciplinary team, and your expertise is a key component of the patient's care plan.

  • Collaborate directly with physicians, nurses, and other specialists to guide medication management.
  • Ensure the highest quality and safety standards for pharmaceutical care are met.
  • The environment is fast, but the impact you can have is significant.

What You Need to Bring

We need someone who's built a solid foundation and is ready to operate at an advanced level. Here are the specifics.

  • A pharmacy degree from an accredited school is mandatory.
  • You must have an active Texas pharmacist license from the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Current CPR certification is required, along with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), which needs renewing every two years.
  • A Board Certification, like BCTXP, or completion of a specialty residency is part of the qualifications for this specialist track.
  • About five years of relevant experience is what we're aiming for. That includes time spent in residency training; a PGY1 counts as two years, and a PGY2 counts as three toward that total. This level of experience is preferred to hit the ground running.

The Person We Need

The credentials get you in the door, but how you work defines success here. This isn't a solo job.

  • Clear communication isn't just nice; it's a non negotiable part of keeping patients safe and teams aligned.
  • You've got to be someone who builds real relationships. We promote collaboration, not silos.
  • Take ownership of your performance and your decisions.
  • Always be thinking about how to make a patient's experience better.
  • We value initiative, especially when it comes to your own professional growth and learning.
  • Show up engaged. We're building a team that supports each other to win for our patients.
