Perfusionist

Methodist Health SystemยทDallas, TX

About This Role

The Job

Methodist Health System is looking for an ECMO specialist to work day shifts at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. You'll be part of a team that handles some of the most complex cases in the region, so this isn't a role where you're just checking boxes. You'll be embedded in patient care from start to finish.

Your job is to help develop and execute a treatment plan for patients on ECMO. That means you're doing real assessment, planning, implementation, and education. You'll be in constant communication with the ECMO physician and the rest of the healthcare team to interpret data, adjust settings, and make sure the patient's care plan is actually working. This is collaborative work, and your voice matters.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Participate in developing a treatment plan specific to each ECMO patient
  • Assess, plan, implement, and educate throughout the patient's stay
  • Communicate with the ECMO physician and healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and complete the care plan
  • Work 12 hour day shifts, 3 days a week

What You Need

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of a designated ECMO training program or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation
  • One of the following licenses: Registered Nursing License (Texas Board of Nursing), or RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist License with current NBRC certification, or CCP Certified Perfusion License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
  • At least 2 years of critical care experience

Where You'll Work

This is at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX. It's a 595 bed acute care teaching and referral hospital, and it's the flagship of the Methodist Health System. It's also the only adult Level I Trauma Center in southern Dallas, home to the first and only Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center down south, and has a newly renovated Linda and Mitch Hart Breast Center. The hospital is a Magnet designated facility, and it's been named a 150 Top Place to Work in Healthcare by Becker's Hospital Review (2023) and a Top 10 Military Friendly Employer and Military Spouse Friendly Employer (both 2023, Gold Designation). They do liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants here, plus they've got a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

How to Apply

Send in your application through the JobXi listing. Make sure your resume reflects all the licenses and certifications listed above specifically BLS, ACLS, and whichever professional license you hold. Let us know if you're a veteran or military spouse the hospital actively recruits from that community.
