
About This Role

The Work
You'll be providing nursing care for patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. That means using the full nursing process; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; for direct and indirect patient care.
- Your main focus is creating a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, yourself, your coworkers, and the facility.
- A big part of the job is clear communication. You'll be sharing information with your team, co workers, patients, and family members, and making sure everyone understands.
- You're responsible for the nursing components of patient and family education.
- Providing safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration is key.
- You'll ensure all patient information is documented completely, accurately, and without delay.
- The goal is to use that nursing process to make sure quality care is provided throughout the entire episode of care.
- It also means adhering to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- We expect you to take personal responsibility for your performance and for your own professional growth.
- And of course, there will be other duties as assigned; that's just how it goes in healthcare.
What You Need to Bring
This isn't an entry level spot. They need someone who's already been in the trenches for a bit.
- First off, you need to be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- A current license to practice as an RN in Texas (or have the eligibility to get one) is mandatory.
- You must have at least two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse.
- Your certifications need to be current: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
