About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this night shift OR RN spot at Methodist Dallas. It's a 12 hour gig, three nights a week: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM.
The Work
You're the RN providing direct nursing care in the operating room. You'll use the full nursing process; assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation; for your patients. A big part of this is directing and supervising other team members assigned to you. You're also collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to make sure care is appropriate for the patient's age and development, following all our unit standards.
What You Need to Bring
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing. A BSN is preferred.
- A current license to practice as an RN in Texas, or you're eligible to get one.
- At least six months of experience working as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Any other current certifications that are required by the specific department.
How We Work
This isn't just a task list; it's how we operate. We expect you to hold yourself accountable and take initiative for your own professional growth. Clear, open communication is non negotiable here. We build real relationships because it creates a collaborative environment where the team can win. And everything circles back to the patient; you've got to be constantly looking for ways to improve their experience. Be engaged. Be eager.
The Hospital & The Perks
You'd be at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, our 595 bed flagship acute care hospital and a major teaching and referral center. We've got some serious credentials: we're Magnet designated, home to the only adult Level I Trauma Center in southern Dallas, and have the area's first and only Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center here too.
The awards aren't just for clinical care. Becker’s Hospital Review named us one of the 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare in 2023. We're a Gold Designation Top 10 Military Friendly Employer and a Top 10 Military Spouse Friendly Employer for 2023 as well.
We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and run liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant programs. Celebrating over 90 years in service, we actively strive for a workforce that reflects our community and welcomes everyone's skills.
