About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this Occupational Therapist opening at Methodist Dallas. I've been placing folks here for years, and they run a serious operation. This is the flagship hospital, nearly 600 beds, with the only adult Level I Trauma Center in southern Dallas. You're not just showing up to do a job; you're joining a team that handles some of the most complex cases in the region.
The Work
You'll be providing direct patient care, following the full OT process from evaluation through discharge planning. It's a technical role where you have to think on your feet. You'll collaborate daily with a multidisciplinary team; it's all about coordinating to get the best possible outcome for each patient.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There's an occasional weekend possibility, but it's primarily a weekday gig.
What You Need to Bring
- A degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy, either at the baccalaureate or post baccalaureate level.
- A valid Texas OT license, or a Temporary Texas License if you're waiting on the full one.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- This role is open to new graduates just getting started, as well as licensed OTs with work experience.
How We Expect You to Show Up
This isn't a checklist; it's how you do the work. Clear communication is non negotiable when you're coordinating care. We need someone who builds real relationships with their team to create a collaborative environment. You have to own your performance and your decisions.
- Always be looking for ways to improve what we do for patients.
- Take charge of your own professional growth and learning.
- Be present, engaged, and ready to contribute to the team's success.
A Bit About Methodist Dallas
They've been serving the community for over 90 years and are pretty proud of it. They're a Magnet designated hospital and have been named one of the top places to work in healthcare. They value a diverse workforce that mirrors the community they serve. Beyond trauma and stroke care, they have robust programs in neonatal intensive care (Level III NICU) and organ transplantation for liver, kidney, and pancreas. The hospital invests in its people and its facilities; like the newly renovated breast center; because they plan on being here for another 90 years.
