What you'll actually do

This isn't a desk job. As the House Supervisor RN at Medical City Dallas in Dallas, TX, you're the go to person after hours, on weekends, and holidays. You'll supervise the house float pool and full time float staff, making sure every unit has the nursing support it needs.

You'll work with departments across the hospital to get patients placed where they belong ; quickly and safely. When someone needs supplies or equipment that's hard to find, you help track it down. If a concern pops up with a patient, family member, physician, or staff, you step in and get it resolved before it escalates. You use the chain of command when something bigger needs attention.

Emergencies happen. You respond to them on campus and implement emergency plans for the whole facility. And through all of it, you keep the hospital's mission and goals front of mind ; customer service isn't just a phrase here.

What they need from you

• A current RN license in Texas (compact accepted)
• A bachelor's degree in nursing ; no exceptions
• Graduation from a professional school of nursing
• At least two years of management or supervisory experience
• Experience working in specialty areas like ICU or ED
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of starting
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of starting
• PALS certification within 90 days of starting
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within one year of starting
