About the Role

We need a Nurse Manager for our Labor and Delivery unit at Medical City Dallas in Dallas, TX. This isn't just about managing schedules. You're running the department. That means you're responsible for everything that makes it work: the people, the budget, the planning, and making sure it all aligns with where the hospital is headed.

You'll build relationships with patients, physicians, your team, and vendors. And while you're focused on leadership, you've got to keep your clinical skills sharp. There will be times when census is high or staffing is tight, and you'll need to step in and work as a staff nurse.

What You Need to Bring

  • A current RN license for Texas or a compact state.
  • You have to be a graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Five years of management experience is preferred. We're talking real management: personnel, payroll, budgets, capital planning, business strategy, marketing, and physician relations.
  • Your background has to be in Labor and Delivery. You need to be clinically competent there.
  • An advanced degree would be a great plus.

Required Certifications

  • Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • NRP certification is required within three months of your start date.
  • You must successfully complete the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within one year of hire. If you've already done it, we'll need that documentation.

The Support & Benefits

The benefits package here is pretty extensive; it's built to support health, life, career, and retirement. Here’s some of what’s included:

  • A comprehensive medical plan covering many common services with low or no cost. It includes prescription drug and behavioral health coverage, free telemedicine services, and free AirMed medical transportation.
  • Extra options for dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage.
  • A 401(k) plan with a 100% match on 3% to 9% of your pay (depending on how long you've been here).
  • The chance to buy HCA Healthcare stock at a 10% discount through our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Serious support for your family: fertility and family building benefits with Progyny, adoption assistance, and referral services for childcare and more.
  • Education assistance for tuition, student loans, certifications; even dependent scholarships.
  • A generous Time Away From Work Program covering paid time off and family leave.
  • Free counseling services and resources for your emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing.
  • Eligibility for specific benefits can vary by location.
