About This Role
What you'll actually do
This role sits between the loan officer and the closing table. You're the one who gathers every piece of credit and income information needed for the loan program. You open and review everything the loan officer brings in, then you flag any problems before they reach underwriting.
You'll process that file from the moment it leaves the loan officer's hands all the way through to closing. That means ordering appraisals, title work, and making sure customers understand what insurance they need. Sometimes you'll meet with customers face to face to explain issues or regulations. And when necessary, you'll close transactions for the Title Company.
You assist the loan officer with whatever comes up ; there isn't a rigid list here. Other duties get assigned as needed too.
Qualifications that matter
- You should have relevant experience in mortgage processing or a related field ; your position level depends on whether that experience is internal or external
- Comfortable sitting at a desk for extended periods; this job requires stationary work time
- Regular use of a computer and standard office machinery is part of every day
- You can lift up to 25 pounds when needed
