About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this lab job at Medical City Dallas in Dallas, TX. I've been placing folks here for years. It's a big, serious hospital; we're talking nearly 900 beds and a team of over 1,500 physicians. People come from all over for the care here. The lab is a critical piece of that puzzle, and they need someone who gets that.
The Work
You'll be running the show in one or more sections of the clinical lab. That means you're doing chemical, bacteriological, serological, and microscopic testing yourself and making sure it's done right.
- Your main job is performing those procedures with real proficiency.
- Keeping meticulous records is non negotiable. We're talking test results, quality control logs, everything.
- The equipment is your responsibility too. You'll handle the routine maintenance and log any fixes it needs.
- They might ask you to help train others in the lab from time to time.
What You Need to Bring
They're pretty specific on credentials here. Don't apply if you don't have these boxes checked.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- You must hold one of these certifications: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Certified Medical Lab Technologist (CMLT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), or be an American Medical Technologist (AMT).
Now, for experience: having at least one year in a hospital hematology lab would put you at the front of the line. It's listed as preferred, but in a place this size, it really matters.
