Med/Surg RN

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this Med/Surg RN opening at Methodist Dallas. I've been placing nurses here for a while, and the team is solid. They're looking for someone who gets it; the pace, the collaboration, the need to be sharp every shift.

The Work

You're providing direct nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation. You'll supervise assigned team members and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver care that's appropriate for the patient's age and development, all according to the unit's standards.

What You Need to Bring

  • A BSN is required. You must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Your current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Any other current certifications your specific department requires.
  • A current license to practice professional nursing in Texas, or you're eligible to get one.
  • At least 1 year of Med Surg experience.

How You Operate

This is about how you show up. The specifics matter just as much as your credentials.

  • Clear, open communication isn't optional; it's how things run smoothly.
  • You build relationships to create a truly collaborative environment.
  • Take accountability for your own performance.
  • Always be on the lookout for ways to improve the patient's experience.
  • Initiative for your own professional growth is expected here.
  • Come engaged and ready to help build a winning team.

The Schedule & The Place

The schedule is three 12 hour night shifts per week. You'll be at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX.

It’s a 595 bed acute care teaching and referral hospital; the flagship of Methodist Health System. They've got some serious capabilities: it’s home to the only adult Level I Trauma Center in southern Dallas, the first and only Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in that part of the city, and a newly renovated breast center. They also have Level III NICU and transplant programs for liver, kidney, and pancreas. It’s a Magnet hospital that keeps racking up awards as a top place to work in healthcare.

A Quick Note from Them

The hospital celebrates over 90 years of service and strives for a diverse workforce that reflects its communities. They welcome skills and talents from all groups.
